New High-Performance General-Purpose Inverter
This new family member completes the Omron inverter portfolio offering better control performance, improving application range usability and enhancing maintenance functions
- High-performance motor control for IM and PM motors in OLV & CLV, delivering 200% or more torque at 0.0 Hz and supporting applications requiring high-speed rotation with minimal speed and torque fluctuations.
- Advanced control performance with 40 Hz sensorless, 200 Hz vector closed-loop control, 1500 Hz current response, and a maximum output frequency of 599 Hz.
- Flexible drive ratings with quadruple rating options: HHD 150%/1 min, 200%/3 sec; HND 120%/1 min; HD 150%/1 min; ND 120%/1 min.
- Integrated hardware including a built-in EMC filter (entire range), built-in braking transistor up to 75 kW, and built-in braking resistor up to 7.5 kW.
- Comprehensive application functions, including positioning control, orientation functionality, master-follower operation, auto energy-saving operation, and regenerative solutions as an option.
- Easy engineering and commissioning with the Multifunctional Programming Plug-In software and Sysmac Studio IDE for PC configuration.
- Built-in functional safety with STO (SIL3 / Cat.3 / PL:e) and support for four encoder option boards (100 kHz open collector and line driver interfaces).
- Extensive connectivity with built-in Modbus RTU (including Modbus Mapping Function) and communication options for EtherCAT, PROFIBUS, PROFINET, and Modbus TCP (coming soon).
- Reliable and durable design with a 10-year design life for main components and compliance with CE, UL, cUL, RoHS2, plus 3C2 PCB coating.
- Wide power range from 0.4 kW to 630 kW (400 V), covering a broad variety of industrial applications.

Programming Plug-In software
The R1 Inverter can perform simple sequence control programmed (plug-in software). Crane control, tension control and other large-scale processes that require fast control speeds can be configured without a PLC, optimizing costs.
Driving multiple motor types
The R1 Series expands the choices of motors that can be used for the drive system. Standard induction motors, permanent magnet motors, direct drive PM motors (up to 128 poles), and special motors such as drum motors are supported. Comes with new auto-tuning features that enable multi-drive operation using induction and synchronous motors and helps saving energy.
Built-in EMC filter
Built-in noise filters corresponding to the European EMC Directive IEC61800 -3 2nd Environment Category C3 and UL Power Conversion Equipment/UL61800 -5 -1 will save external hardware and extra cost.
