Team Edition

Open Source Distributed version control System
The Team Edition implementation of Sysmac Studio incorporates a distributed version control system within the platform’s rich interface. It allows multiple co-developers to work on same project, with easy project comparison and efficient handling of machine versions. Omron has chosen Git, which is the most popular open source distributed control system, giving development teams the freedom to choose any Git-based cloud web repository.
The version control system allows engineers to work on a local version of a project with full control over the project source code. Improvements and modifications made to the code on the local version can then be merged with a remote server, so other teams can access the code.
Standards

Compliance With Familiar Standards
Fully compliant with the open standard IEC 61131-3, Sysmac Studio provides a state-of-the-art programming environment based on the ladder diagram, structured text programming languages and on program organization units which include programs, functions, and function blocks. Additionally, motion control instructions that are based on PLCopen standards and an instruction set that follows IEC rules are included. Providing a familiar programming environment virtually eliminates the learning curve for a new software allowing for quick adoption.
Variables

Programming with Variables
There is no need to learn the internal memory map of the NJ-series controller. Sysmac Studio automatically assigns memory in the CPU Unit to variables that you create promoting faster development and reducing errors. This also eliminates the need to wait for memory address definitions for hardware before the start of software development. Hardware and software can be designed independently and developed in parallel.
Easy

Easy Operation
Sysmac Studio places as few restrictions as possible on the design procedures to allow you to start design work from any part of the system. The design concept features easy-to-understand operating procedures with suitable guides that do not interfere with the workflow. This provides user-friendly operation for flexible design work in which even mistakes in settings and procedures can be corrected immediately or left until the project is finalized as long as they will not lead to serious accidents.
Debugging

Complete Debugging
Sysmac Studio provides complete functions for debugging sequence control, such as changing present values and changing programming online. It also provides debugging functions with simulations of motion control, such as displaying results in 2D or 3D and displaying traces on virtual devices. The new 3D Simulation tool offers a programmer the opportunity to see the physical movement and machine sequence that is a direct result of the code and configuration they choose to implement.

To accurately simulate motion control, Sysmac Studio provides instructions to create virtual external signals such as positive/negative limit switch, home proximity signal, external latch and intermediate stop input signals. Motion alarm and warning instructions can be implemented as well to provide the programmer with additional fault recovery testing measures. The included data trace feature also gives a high level of detail and displays a time chart graph in parallel with 2D or 3D path markers. The simulation results are recorded in a data trace file, allowing closer examination of the performance to guarantee proper operation. Combining 3D motion simulation with the CPU emulator gives the programmer utilities to assess the correct sequencing, optimum path control, minimum execution time and other critical operations. As a result, the gap between machine concept and operation is dramatically reduced.
Security
Maximum Security
Advanced functions to protect your investment and secure the machine are standard in Sysmac Studio. Preventing incorrect connections, operation or theft of assets are paramount for both large and small projects. Features such as confirmation of Controller names and serial ID's, administrator access rights and controller write protections protect your machine while authentication of user program execution and password protection for project files protect your intellectual development property. With 32 digit security passwords, your system is always safe.
Tasks
Task Control
A function of both the NJ-series controller and Sysmac Studio, task management ensures your control system operates exactly as planned. The Task System used by NJ-series controllers is used to assign an execution condition and execution order to a series of processes, such as I/O refreshing and user program execution. This new level of control allows a programmer to select how the CPU operates during run-time to guarantee consistently fast operation for the life of the machine. Sysmac Studio provides simple and clear adjustments for your task settings as well as powerful performance evaluation tools. Only valid options are shown for task selection, guiding the user to an appropriate configuration. Once a configuration is chosen, program timing can be monitored to ensure optimal operation. The Task Execution Time Monitor can be used with the Simulator to display execution times before downloading to the physical controller. These new software tools allow the user to predict the operation of the machine before implementation rather than responding to unexpected behavior during commissioning.
